Services & Facilities

From the centrally located factory near Palmerston North, Fibreglass Developments offers a full range of services and facilities for its clients. Our full
in-house capabilities mean your project is all done in the one facility - allowing for better project management, control and continuity throughout.

Design and Development

Complete in-house design capabilities from concept or sketch through to prototype. Solid works computer modelling allows full set up and rendering through to production of programs for CNC machining if required.

Pattern & Mould Making

Our pattern and mould makers have many years of experience in the industry, ensuring each component is constructed in the most efficient method.

Project Management

Major projects have been completed over FDL's history, all to strict deadlines using critical paths and other time management systems - ensuring your project is ready when you want it.

Installation

We have crews to assemble and install on site if required. Our teams have the specialist techniques and skills required to give you peace of mind in this area.

Repairs

All of our staff are masters at their craft and repairs to any fibreglass panels or fixtures can be carried out to our high standards.


​Our facilities Include


Fully equipped Engineering, Woodwork, and Pattern Shops for prototype and production of specialised parts from frames to locator dowels, pattern making and mould production

Flat Panel Line

FDL has the largest flat mould in New Zealand, measuring 15 metres x 3.3 metres. It is used for the production of flat panels for the transport industry through to concrete formwork.

Mould Shop

For handlaying and gun spray-up of fibreglass products. This has separate gun, gelcoating and trimming booths.

RTM Plant & Skills

For closed moulding higher production items. Has extensive control and monitoring facilities.

Closed Cavity Bag Moulding (or vacuum infusion) plant & skills

Vacuum Bagging Plant

Used on the flat panel line and for more specialised products with cores.

Foam Plant

Polyurethane rigid foam for Insulated panels and low pressure injection foam articles. Inserts for RTM products are manufactured using this plant.

Door Division

For production of SteridorTM hygiene doors. Includes a hydraulic press, vacuum table, and temperature control facilities.
