BCS - Self Baggage Check-in Units
Between 2016 and 2017, FDL manufactured fibreglass shells for BCS automated airport baggage check-in systems.
The moulded composite shells formed the exterior bodywork of the kiosks, providing a lightweight, durable and cleanly finished solution suitable for high-use airport environments. The project required repeatable manufacture and consistent surface quality across multiple units.
The gallery below shows concept imagery alongside photographs taken during various stages of production, giving a glimpse into the process from design through to finished components.
The project demonstrates how moulded composites can combine complex shapes, repeatable production, durability and a consistently high-quality finish—qualities that made fibreglass particularly well suited to equipment designed for constant use in busy public environments.
