Lightweight, durable and easily moulded into complex shapes, fibreglass is well suited to manufacturing automotive components. Over the years, we have produced full body kits, bumpers, guards, spoilers, air vents and footrests for rally cars, along with components for specialised and competition vehicles.

Strong, lightweight and resistant to rot, warping and corrosion, fibreglass flooring is suitable for demanding environments such as dairy sheds, factories, trucks, chillers and swimming pools. It can also be manufactured in a range of colours and finishes to suit the application.

Our more unusual work has included animal sculptures, Christmas displays, murals, museum exhibits, dog-whelping trays, water and septic tanks, waka, surfboards, slides, novelty trains and rides, coffee carts, snorkel covers, fertiliser spreaders and sidecars. Custom Fibreglass Sculptures & Display Pieces

Fibreglass is well suited to large sculptures, promotional displays and complex one-off forms. Its high strength-to-weight ratio allows substantial pieces to be manufactured, transported and installed more easily than comparable structures made from many traditional materials.

FDL can work from an initial concept, sketch, physical model or digital file. Our in-house capabilities include design development, 5-axis CNC machining, pattern and mould making, composite manufacture, engineering, finishing and installation.

Each project requires an individual approach. Important considerations include the size and intended location of the finished piece, its surface finish, structural requirements, transport access and method of installation. Large or outdoor pieces may need to be manufactured in sections, incorporate internal reinforcement or mounting points, and be designed around environmental loads and long-term exposure.

Our custom work has included animal sculptures, promotional characters, Christmas displays and large public artworks such as the Whale Tales sculptures.
