From our Feilding facility, Fibreglass Developments provides coordinated design, tooling, composite manufacturing, finishing and installation services. Keeping the core stages of a project closely connected improves communication, continuity and quality control from the initial concept through to the finished product.​

Services:

Design and Development

FDL can develop a project from an initial idea, sketch, existing component or completed design through to a production-ready solution. SolidWorks modelling and rendering allow concepts to be refined before manufacture, with digital models also used to produce CNC machining programs where required.

Pattern & Mould Making

Our experienced pattern and mould makers produce accurate tooling for prototypes, one-off components and repeat production. The construction method is selected according to the required shape, finish, tolerances and anticipated production volume.

Composite Manufacturing

FDL manufactures fibreglass and composite products ranging from small, complex components to large panels and complete custom structures. Our facilities support prototypes, one-off projects and repeat production using processes including hand laminating, spray-up, resin transfer moulding and vacuum infusion.

Project Management

For projects involving multiple stages or specialist contractors, FDL can coordinate design, procurement, tooling, manufacture, finishing, delivery and installation. Keeping responsibilities and progress connected helps reduce delays and maintain continuity throughout the project.

Installation

Components can be test-assembled at our factory before delivery, and our team can complete final assembly and installation on site where required. This helps ensure the finished components fit correctly and perform as intended.

Repairs

FDL repairs and refurbishes fibreglass panels, vehicle bodies, fixtures and other composite products. Our team can assess damage, restore structural integrity and provide a durable finished surface.

Manufacturing Facilities:

Our Feilding facility brings together the equipment, specialist work areas and practical expertise required to take composite products from concept and tooling through to manufacture and finishing.

Engineering, Woodworking & Pattern Shops

Our engineering, woodworking and pattern shops support the development of prototypes, patterns, moulds and specialised components. These facilities allow items ranging from structural frames to accurate tooling and locator components to be produced as part of the wider manufacturing process.

Small Production

Our small-production area is used for lower-volume, detailed or technically complex components. Manufacturing methods range from hand laminating through to the vacuum infusion of specialised parts, including aircraft components.

Large Production

The large-production area supports repeat manufacturing of products such as campervan components, fan shrouds and spray tanks. Separate gelcoating, spray-up and trimming booths help keep each stage of production controlled and organised.

Flat Panel Line

FDL’s flat mould measures 16.80 metres by 3.80 metres and is used to manufacture large composite panels. Applications range from insulated panels for the transport and construction industries to concrete formwork.

Door Production

Our dedicated door-production equipment includes a hydraulic press, vacuum table and temperature-control facilities used in the manufacture of Steridor™ hygienic doors and freezer doors.

Mould Shop

The mould shop is where drawings and digital designs are translated into physical tooling. Plugs or patterns are produced to replicate the required finished shape, allowing accurate moulds to be created for final component manufacture.

RTM & Vacuum Infusion

FDL has the equipment, process controls and practical experience required for resin transfer moulding and closed-cavity bag moulding, also known as vacuum infusion. These controlled processes are particularly suitable for complex components, consistent repeat production and applications requiring a high-quality finish.

Controlled Storage & Curing

Temperature-controlled material storage and large curing ovens support products and processes that require carefully managed storage or curing conditions.
