Tow & Blow

FDL manufactures fibreglass components for the Tow & Blow portable wind machine, a horticultural system designed to help protect crops from frost, extreme heat and sunburn.

The Tow & Blow is designed to be moved between locations and used across a range of terrain, including orchards, vineyards and other horticultural environments. Its portability allows growers to position the unit where protection is needed most, rather than relying on permanently installed equipment.

The fibreglass components provide a lightweight, durable exterior suitable for repeated outdoor use, while also allowing the machine’s distinctive curved form to be produced consistently.

The project is a good example of composites being used in agricultural equipment where low weight, weather resistance, durability and complex moulded shapes all provide practical advantages.
