The Fibreglass Developments Flooring team was contracted by Goodman Fielder New Zealand Limited to lay new floor coatings in the Quality Bakers bakery at Palmerston North. This was a very large project, with the completed job covering over 2000 square metres of flooring.

The specified topping was Nuplex Sureshield, and the colour 'Yellow Gold' was chosen. It was laid over the existing floor topping, after diamond grinding and cleaning to provide a good profile. Coving was included, and the finished floor was sealed with two layers of glaze to give a smooth surface for easy cleaning.

Nuplex Sureshield is an industrial grade floor topping system specifically designed for the New Zealand food industry. The resin is blended with specially graded silica-quartz aggregates to produce a flooring system that is hard and durable, and resistant to impact, abrasion, thermal shock and chemicals. It is non-porous, hygienic and easily cleaned. It can be finished with a non-slip glaze for extra safety in wet areas if necessary.

Sureshield can be applied to new or existing sound concrete, timber, or other surfaces, and is also suitable for resurfacing damaged or broken concrete with a more physical and chemical resistant surface.

Nuplex Sureshield is recommended for use in a variety of situations (both food and general manufacturing) and has been proven in a variety of demanding situations such as commercial kitchens, breweries, chocolate factories, freezing works, small goods manufacturers, dairies and cheese makers, supermarkets, ablution blocks, canneries, bakeries and tanneries. It is available in a variety of colours to suit your needs.
